Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 03, 2011 11:18 am I have just ripped up an old shed slab from my back yard and now need to figure out the best plan of attack to get rid of it. The concrete is all in managable/movable pieces and so was thinking getting a skip bin might be the cheapest option. Here's the before & after: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The original slab was approx 4m x 5m and varying depths. How did skip bins work in terms of material & weight - is there a maximum weight allowed? How would I kow what size bin I need, as there are plenty of different sizes. The main thing will be making sure the bin has a ramp to get a wheelbarrow in. Can anyone make any recommendations or answer above questions, as I would really appreciate any input. Thanks. You could borrow / hire a trailer and take it to the dump yourself. You can get the skip as stated. Some skips have sides that open, so that would be ideal. Or if cost is not that important, you can hire junk removal places to do it for you. I see 1800 got junk trucks all over the place. Re: Concrete slab removal - Adelaide NE suburbs 6May 11, 2011 1:22 pm UPDATE - managed to get about 80% into a 4m3 skip bin and just have bits leftover to cut up and dispose of by trailer to a dump. Getting the skip took alot of the hard work out of smashing up into smaller pieces and doing by trailer, and cost about 1/4 the price of having someone come and do it all for me!! 10 15745 Thanks for your reply!
