Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Condensation 21Jun 05, 2011 4:43 pm Three showers per day and poor extraction. Definitely keep the door close and quickly sneak out when you're done. That will defiantly be an improvement. Its like the heat chases he moisture away from the warmest to the coolest areas, and condenses on the cool surfaces. Also if there are two of you sleeping in that room, you are both contibuting to the moisture by your own respiration. You know how when your car is frosted up, how quickly the airconditioner can clear the windows? That is the principle that a dehumidifier works on. I know its your money, but i'd be getting a dehum in there. Re: Condensation 23Jun 06, 2011 5:13 pm Casa2 - yes, will make sure that a) hubby turns it on for every shower, and that we keep the door closed and try to open the bathroom window when possible (limited with opening the window due to neighbours being able to see in but we can rectify that). Building again - that makes sense - ie, that the moisture would mostly condense in that room, given the two ducts in that room barely work (it's on our 'list' to rectify) so essentially it becomes the coldest/least heated part of the house. Thanks guys. Hopefully we'll get the heating sorted, use the extraction fan, get our other moisture issues sorted and maybe between everything it will make a difference. Really appreciate all your advice. Thanks....HHCIB Re: Condensation 24Jun 06, 2011 7:04 pm One important thing. Try to get the temperature of your bedroom above the temperature of the rest of the house. Either heat the bedroom or turn down the heating in the rest of the house. This should have an instant effect on your bedroom condensation (less condensation in the bedroom than anywhere else). If not, the condensation is most likely coming from the outside. Re: Condensation 26Jun 26, 2011 1:22 am Hi HHCIB This is because of air moisture inside your house. Since it is warmer compared to the environment outside, this moisture condenses from the inside. Yes, one way is to vent the air by opening some windows or install some vents. But some more simple ways you can do as well like minimizing the sources like from your shower, kitchen.
