I quite like the stepped ones, but wonder whether they shrink the rooms? I dont want square set as I personally dont like it... Do you think the stepped cornice wsill look ok on a cathedral ceiling?? As long as the person doing the cornice work is competent, then the stepped cornice looks great - but I have seen some horror jobs where it doesn't line up properly etc. To keep costs down (cos the stepped cornicing is more expensive) consider putting the stepped cornice in the living areas and stick to standard cove cornice in bedrooms, laundry toilets etc. The photo is not really clear but to me it looks like twist in the cornice.
