Hi there.
I have bought one of those power consumption meters, and to hook it up to the power supply you just have to put a sensor/probe around the wire coming into the meter in the meter box. This is a straight forward job, but to get to the wire you have to swing open the panel inside the meter box, but to do that there is a security seal thing on the bolt to open the panel. I haven't noticed this security seal before but we just had one of those new smart meters installed by the power company sp they must have put it on.
So my question is, can I break that security seal on the bolt and do this myself, will I get in trouble for breaking that seal. Or do I need to get an electrician to do it, will the electrician replace the security seal on the bolt?
Hope makes sense, any comments appreciated.
Thanks.
