Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 21, 2011 9:57 am I have been researching solar electricity & really need some help, all the people I have spoken too knock each others products and all I want to do is get the best system I can. Have been looking at approx 2.6 or 2.8 system with at 3kw inverter. I have been told Hyundai Panels are the best with a Xantrax inverter. I would be pleased to hear other opinions on CMA inverters (taiwanese) & Panels made in China?? Can someone help please Re: Solar Electricty Panels & Inverters 2Mar 21, 2011 6:04 pm Do yourself a favour and check out the whirlpool forums about this topic. There are tons of people on there with knowledge on the topic. I'm still trying to work it all out. All over my head! (I'm getting solar as part of my package but need to see if I can add panels to beef up the output). Another factor to consider is which retailer to go through.... Anywho, check this link: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/?a ... 23&q=solar There's plenty to sift through! Re: Solar Electricity Panels & Inverters 3Mar 21, 2011 8:22 pm Ditto the above post. After weeks of reading on WP Ive chosen a 3.04 Kw system using 16 x Suntech 190w panels + a SMA 3000TL inverter for around $9600 my costs, on a tile roof, facing north, single storey in Adelaide. If you want extra cheap system beware there are scores of companies using 'questionable' components. Arfur Re: Solar Electricty Panels & Inverters 4Mar 21, 2011 11:19 pm Arthur. We have identical systems. I did heaps of reading. It seems that high quality Chinese panels and SMA inverters are the sweet spot for value for money. and quality. The thing that swung me was that the company I went with are a well established company that are also a distributor to other companies. I felt confident that they aren't just a fly by night business that have jumped on the band wagon and may not be around if ever I have a warranty issue. A 3.04Kw system generates on average a far bigger output than my current use, but the excess credits will wipe out my gas bill and I will get a smallish cheque once a year, or more often if I want to pay the $10 cheque fee, each time. There is only one problem with the Whirlpool site is that people wander in there and are too lazy to readup to find reputable companies who use reputable components and rather than form their own opinion, they simply ask for the best option. There are retailers prowling the forum who will naturally say they are among the best which at times is a real stretch of the truth and could lead unsuspecting purchasers up the proverbial garden path. Do your own researching at the Whirlpool site, because if someone recommends a company and it goes pear-shaped then you will point the finger at them -- No thanks Arfur Hello - we were hoping to apply laminate click lock panels to our concrete ceiling, but not too sure how to go about attaching the panels to the concrete. Any idea what… 0 1685 0 10945 I looked into it a few years ago and my conclusion was to just build a carport that will support panels and get a system installed separately. The company I looked at had… 1 6483 |
