Got any pictures of the finished product yet? Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 63Jul 16, 2007 6:30 pm Hi Matt,
We just moved in last saturday without the driveway (will be done soon) and finding quality is quite good. Tile work, plaster, material is up to the standard. Material they used is looks quite good. When I finally decided to took some photos for this forum, then my camera gave up and said I also need a upgrade ![]() 1) toilet seat, I think it's a bad design. I mean if you miss the target then it going to be messy (you know what I mean) ![]() 2) Window from kitchen opening in alfresco got wood frame next to sink (no tile work) which I think will be a problem in the long run when it will be wet most of the time washing dishes. We should have consider having little smaller window and tile work next to the sink but too late. Otherwise we are quite happy so far. I will post few photos very soon and provide you more feed back. Thanks guys, regards, hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 65Jul 17, 2007 9:51 am Yes Mate, I certainly settled on Carlisle Bordeaux 40 with extended garage, extended alfresco (total 43.3 sq) . We got the handover on 6-July and moved in on just 14-July (last saturday-sunday). My house looks like a war zone at the moment ![]() Regards, Hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 66Jul 17, 2007 10:27 am Great stuff, if we go with this house we are looking at extending the garage so it almost 7x7m and moving the meals area to the family room thus doubleing the alfresco area and converting it into an enclosed outdoor/indoor entertainment area with concertina doors opening it up. Which way did you extend the alfresco area?
Milt, Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 67Jul 17, 2007 10:57 am Never thought of doing that with the meals / alfresco... Good idea.
We also extended the alfresco (same as the display home in Cranbourne). Made it wider & longer by just over a meter each side. We wanted to extend it to the end of the house (behind the theatre room) but was unable to be done because of the roof pitch & how it met up with the first storey window... Oh yeah, signed the contract last week... Constuction should start in the next 3 - 4 weeks... Very exciting. Cheers, Mike. Which way did you extend the alfresco area? Milt, We extended the alfresco same as per display in Cranbourne display house. We wanted to extend the alfresco up to the end of rumpus room (back rumpus room wall) but it was too costly, they were asking about $4500 more just for that 2 mtr extension. So we decided to leave it as per display. We are also planing to enclose alfresco for outdoor entertaining area or enclosed home gym. How much will be the approx. cost of enclosing with concertina doors or if you want to enclose as per display (Atlantique 36, http://www.carlislehomes.com.au/atlantique.html) then how much will be approx. cost. But for the time being I probably leave it as it is till we accumulate some money ![]() Regards, Hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 69Jul 17, 2007 11:17 am We didn't see the point of having the family room by the kitchen we intend to have double timber doors that lead out to the extended alfresco area and then having concertina doors on the opposite wall opening up the alfresco area to the backyard.

Mike, We extended the alfresco ($6950) originally and had the 1.2 metres behind the meals area as per the display. I spoke to Carlisle Homes and they agreed to extend the theatre room and the meals area to the full depth. The roof pitch came down to 16 degrees and as such required sarking. If you want it, just ask as it can be done! Either Carlisle are telling me whoppers or the only thing that might be different is the "Largeness" of the floor plan from the Grande to the Bordeaux. I'll soon find out as I've just e-mailed them.... I'll let you know the outcome Cheers, Mike. My Blog... http://ahouseonthehill.blogspot.com/ Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 74Jul 17, 2007 3:05 pm Mike,
I don't think you can extend Bordeaux's garage depth towards laundry because Bordeaux's laundry is just next to the garage back wall so it will be difficult for them to move the laundry or shift the laundry sliding door but extending width will not be a problem. In Grande, it is quite possible extend the width and depth. Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 75Jul 17, 2007 3:25 pm Hardy,
I think / hope Mike means the entire back of the house not the back of the garage... Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 76Jul 17, 2007 3:38 pm Spot on Matt!!
Wasn't worried about extending the garage or the Alfresco down the side of the house... only at the rear of the house ... I'm not that computer literate ![]() You have to register first, then attach the photos you want, then each attachment now will have its own web address... for eg. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/ ... ension.jpg ... Then when you go to post a message to a topic you click the "Img" button, add the link, then click the "Img" button again So it should look like.... [ img ] ... "insert photo link here"... [ /img ]. I think this is the easiest way to explain it for us "non Computer" wizzes Cheers, Mike.
