Welcome to the awesome ride that is Carlisle Homes!! Warren awesome, Emma(s) awesome....... Let us know how your colour selection goes ![]() Matt Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 42May 24, 2007 7:50 pm ![]() Hi Guys, ****** Long time reader, first time poster.****** Firstly want to say what a great forum this is & how helpful everyone is as well. All of your tips / ideas / comments have been fantastic & helped make my choices easier. We have finally decided, after sitting on our land for a couple of years, to build with Carlisle Homes. We have chosen to go with the 2 storey Bordeaux 40... http://www.carlislehomes.com.au/bordeaux.html Like you Matt, we are dealing with Warren in Cranbourne & I can't tell you how helpful he has been so far, from staying back late to answer our questions to taking pictures of his own house to help us with colours... If anyone has any doubts about building with Carlisle, come & see Warren & you'll see what I mean. Also the quality of their houses are next to none in our opinion. We have also made many changes such as bigger alfresco area, knocking the wall out between the study & formal lounge area (which was no charge, unlike Henly who wanted to charge an extra $450 to "remove" the wall), a half wall to the rumpus room just to name a few & none seem to be a problem. So far we have paid the $600 for the soil test, which I'm guessing is done with five holes on the block & gone thru the alterations that we want. Tomorrow we have our colour appointment, which snuck up on us & only gave us a weeks notice to pick all colours, fixtures & fittings. They gave us the option of extending the time to do it but I think we've got it all sussed ![]() Constuction, they tell us, will start in August & finish the end of February. In no hurry so they can take as much time as they want (hope they're not reading this). All very exciting & looking forward to the whole process. Will try & keep you all updated on how it's fairing & hopefully get some more idea's of ppl here.. ie colours (Michelle ![]() Cheers, Mike. Good on you Mike and good luck with your building, I am completely satisfied with Carlisle so far, As you said Warren is just so good salesman and person. He also helped us with numbers of question and with personal advises. Construction of my house started mid January and just today I meet with my site supervisor and he said you can have your home by June end. Carlisle build very quickly but in your case probably it may be delayed due to Christmas break. I agree that with Carlisle you don't have to pay so many charges for changes, where with other builders they charge for each and everything. even if they give you advise there will be charges for that ![]() Good on you Mike and keep us posted of your progress.... Regards, Hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 43May 28, 2007 10:49 am Thanks Matt & Hardy.
Colour selection went very smoothly & without a hitch. Emma, as you said, was so helpful. Made all our decisions easier. Although it will be unfortunate for people that will need to select the colours in about 5 months as Emma is due about that time, but I'm sure there will be someone to step into her shoes. We went for a lot of neutral warm colours, both inside & out (can't go wrong with that) & a little bit funky in the laundry & powder room (glass wall tiles & like a multi candy coloured bench top). Still are unsure about the flooring. We got quoted on a timber laminate floor for now but I really want to go with real timber (or even bamboo) floors. The lovely other half is against it as we have timber floors in our house (floating spotted gum) & it just shows up everything, & she is a real neat freak so we are forever cleaning it. So before the tendor appointment I'm going to have to talk her into it somehow. Cheers, Mike. Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 44May 28, 2007 2:00 pm Who is ***** ? Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 46Jun 02, 2007 6:36 pm Well, we are in that time between tender and contract.
Bit of rain on your builds hardy and Matt! Don't worry, it won't *really* rain till we start building! Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 47Jun 02, 2007 6:42 pm Hey Jen,
How's it all coming along? Matt Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 49Jun 04, 2007 12:30 pm Hi JenH,
Good on you, I know this wait is very hard to bear but it wouldn't take long to start building. Once they start it goes rocket fast and you will start getting invoice one after another ![]() ![]() Regards, Hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 50Jun 04, 2007 1:49 pm ![]() Thanks Matt & Hardy. We selected all most similar colours as on display because my wife said you are horrible in colour selection : ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 52Jun 15, 2007 12:07 pm Hi JenH,
Yes! countdown has started now. We got first inspection on 27-Jun and handover on 6-July but before we move in I have to do driveway and other bits n pieces. If everything goes well then probably we will move in around 14-July. By the way how is your house going? is construction started yet? regards, Hardy Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 53Jun 15, 2007 12:11 pm ![]() Hi JenH, We got first inspection on 27-Jun and handover on 6-July Dont forget to take those light globes. Surprising the things you see when you ahve proper light, especially any issues with the paint job Adrian B Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 54Jun 15, 2007 2:52 pm Better yet take a halogen lamp with you it will clearly show you whether your walls a straight and how good or bad the paint finish is
(my partners works for a large painting firm where you pay for a fantastic finish. They carry these lights around like they where born with them) Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 55Jun 21, 2007 9:38 pm so Carlisle have the contracts ready ![]() BUT the land which was due to be released end April, then end May, then mid-June (can you guess what's coming!?!) still not released. Well done mate! Look forward to seeing those pics..... Enjoy your new home ![]() Re: Confused please help me to knowHow is Carlisle home builder? 60Jul 06, 2007 2:43 pm Hi Mike and Matt,
Thanks, I will try to post photo as soon as I can. I am sure you will have smooth ride till your dream turn into reality. These people are good in client dealing. I dealt with AVJ and METR before when I built my previous houses but this is the smoothest and coolest ride I had from all. See you in Berwick soon, Regards, Hardy If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 3086 ![]() We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 5345 |
