Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 09, 2011 7:47 pm 41/2 months in and there still not at lockup.they keep running out of materials.we have scyon axon cladding on the house and they seem to only order a few sheets at a time then they have to wait another week for some more.on my request they have kicked the carpenter off site and bought another in place.looking at my home it seems its never going to get finished.lockup was supposed to be end of january.plasters were supposed to board it 1st week in feb.not a board in site.the wallwrap is ripped and missing in places so now i want to fit my own wall batts to get some insulation back in it,they wont let me do it and are writing a quote up at the moment.why should i pay the only reason its going in is because of there poor workmanship.sorry for the rant Re: i,m so over my builder 2Mar 09, 2011 9:25 pm We had the same issues with our builder we were about 2 month's over handover once they have your money???? how long is a piece of string!!!! at the end of the day you get what you paid for and we did Re: i,m so over my builder 3Mar 10, 2011 5:43 am Hi everyone, We are building with a project builder at the moment, & the common thing I see on this forum is people saying how slow builders are regardless of whether you go with a private or project builder. It's the same with our build, we signed the last contract & file was sent to construction at the beginning of Dec 2010....you'd think they know that they're building a house after Xmas....guess what, 2nd week of Jan 2011 & they were delayed because they were waiting to place an order for the concrete for the slab....that by the way took another 3 weeks, & oh, they also wanted to level the land before that , so they were waiting for the bobcat to arrive, all in all, from the first week in December, slab was done in the second week of Feb 2011...so what I mean to say is, it's the same story regardless if you went with an expensive builder or not Re: i,m so over my builder 4Mar 10, 2011 5:32 pm I can only sympathise with you all as I built with ****** ****** in sleepy old Adelaide several years ago and I aged about 15 years with stress, from having ** work etc demolished and re-done Arfur Re: i,m so over my builder 5Mar 10, 2011 6:01 pm Ive had my builder erased by the admins, so I suggest you all post your complaints on the Consumer Website -- Not Good Enough. Arfur Re: i,m so over my builder 6Mar 10, 2011 7:21 pm i had a long chat on the phone to the superviser today and he assures me all will be fixed.he promises lockup any day now there just waiting for some villa board sheets to finish the soffitts. theyve offered to insulate the house at cost which is a nice gesture.he also assures me that once lockup things will happen fast.watch this space Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20525 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise. We are about to build an above ground pool in our backyard.
