Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 08, 2011 2:17 pm Question, is there any reason why I can't install a vent to vent the dryer under the house ? (we are on concrete stumps, about half a meter high). As access to the outside wall is hard, seems more logically to go under instead. Will use some of these products, http://www.deflecto.com/products/pc/Dry ... Category=4 Thx. Re: Dryer vent, to under the house!? 2Mar 09, 2011 4:58 pm Seems a good idea to me as long as the space is well ventilated The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Dryer vent, to under the house!? 3Mar 09, 2011 5:55 pm Would you run the ducting under the house and to the exterior wall or just venting the hot humid air under your floor? I don't know that the second option would be such a great solution - hot air prefers to rise so once it is under your house it will rise up to sit underneath your floors - I wouldn't want all that wetness going under there - sounds like perfect conditions to attract termites and rot. Re: Dryer vent, to under the house!? 6Jul 06, 2016 10:04 am Like any internal appliance it should be vented to the outside - either through the wall or roof. As per what kb46 says, the humid air will settle on the timber sub-floor resulting in either mould or dampness that will attract termites. Stewie How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 4025 Yeah my reasoning is just that those house posts are designed for vertical load not lateral. I just didnt want to risk interfering with the existing house… 4 9977 you need to make an application to your local council for this as they are the approval authority for driveways cheers Simeon 1 6088 |
