Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 08, 2011 10:06 am I was wondering if anyone's bed face their ensuite door? The other wall facing the window is around 3.1m, it would be hard to fit in a king bed and 2 bedside tables, but I really don't want to face the ensuite while sleeping. Comments are much appreciated. Re: Bed facing ensuite door 2Mar 08, 2011 10:54 am My bed didn't face opposite the ensuite door but it was to the side of the ensuite so still could see straight in at night. We kept the door shut so we didn't feel we were looking in at the loo. Re: Bed facing ensuite door 3Mar 08, 2011 12:54 pm IF it has a door then it shouldn't be an issue, so long anyone in there shuts the door. The only way to counter would be put a bluff wall in (shown in red) Not sure how much room you've got, but you'll want at least 3mt from the foot of your bed to add a bluff @1mt off wall. Re: Bed facing ensuite door 5Mar 08, 2011 5:28 pm The house I live in has bed facing ensuite and wir,I have never had a problem with it Re: Bed facing ensuite door 6Mar 08, 2011 5:34 pm The foot of our bed faces our ensuite opening. There's no door. I sleep well at night. What sort of problem should there be? Re: Bed facing ensuite door 7Mar 08, 2011 6:26 pm just Erin The foot of our bed faces our ensuite opening. There's no door. I sleep well at night. What sort of problem should there be? Turning on the ensuite light in the middle of the night and noise. I'll be uncomfortable sleeping facing a doorless ensuite. Thanks for everyone's comment, I didn't know if light and noise will be a factor. Seems like it's not an issue if there's a door on the ensuite. Re: Bed facing ensuite door 8Mar 08, 2011 6:31 pm Ah ok, I thought you were asking regarding feng shui. Neither of us turn the ensuite light on if we get up during the night, and our toilet has a door on it, so no issues there Re: Bed facing ensuite door 9Mar 08, 2011 7:35 pm just Erin Ah ok, I thought you were asking regarding feng shui. Re: Bed facing ensuite door 10Mar 08, 2011 8:00 pm Yes, I know what you mean gelatiii. Our bed face the ensuite door. The door is at the far end of the opposite wall so we are not directly in front of it. I would hate not having a door as far as the light/shower/fan issue goes. Then again depends on your work/sleep habits and if you have another shower that you can use if one of you is asleep? My DH works shift and he uses the other shower. Have to say though it does annoy me when the ensuite is used when I am asleep but I am a very light sleeper. I guess there a personal variables involved as to whether you need a door or not. Personal choice really I think. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Bed facing ensuite door 11Mar 08, 2011 8:24 pm Our will face the end of the bed. We have been using a little battery operated sensor led light that only works at night and only comes on if someone walks past for our main toilet for when the kids get up at night. I am thinking I might pop one of these in the ensuite as it has been working well and it means then we won't have to put lights on when the toilet gets used (I get up at least once a night). Re: Bed facing ensuite door 14Mar 09, 2011 9:50 am Our current ensuite is to the left of the bed , level with it, so I lay in bed and can see straight into the ensuite. Its never been an issue, we don't use the light if getting up in the night and even when I was working full time the shift work wasn't an issue, having said that, my dh could sleep through a bomb going off. my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 The warning is on the sticker on the door too. Similar to what you see from your western windows 3 19992 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location.
