But I have been told that Wattyl also has a product that costs around $200 but is worth it. Might ask a few paint specialist what they think. I found an almost identical product in the cement/mortar aisle that costs around $70. I can't remember the brand, but have a look, it is pretty easy to find, there aren't that many paint tins in that aisle Paul Re: Garage Floor 6Mar 04, 2011 3:33 pm When you do it - make sure you get the concrete etcher or acid wash the floor first - that way it will let the paint soak in. Other wise when you drive your hot car tyres over the top it will peel the paint off. We're just using normal concrete paint that we picked up from Bunnings - it was marked down as a "Mistint" - but it is Charcoal - perfect for our place - and only $20 for a 10Lt can! I'm not sure how far that goes but it's made for heavy duty traffic.. Re: Garage Floor 10Mar 05, 2011 2:28 pm Gday all , Im a mechanic by trade and moved into our new house just before xmas. We have a double garage - 6m x 5.5 and i wanted the best floor coating you can get and i got it at a price ofcourse through my work i got way too much - Epoxy 2 pac enamel - 1X15litre grey/light blue paint - 1X5L hardner . This stuff will not wear off after 2 or 5 years more like 15- 20 years we used it in our workshops at work and man its durable it basically drys like rubber , what ever i had leftover from the first coat went hard and fell out of the bucket like a brick yet still has a firm rubber type stretch to it i was very impressed i did 2 coats of it and like a few mentioned , i did acid wash the entire garage twice and the floor has come up a treat. I work from home so the floor gets a work out with trolley jacks and stands all being dragged along the floor without scratching or peeling - you can mop it and comes up good as gold like new again. As for the price yet it cost me $660 but i have seen the dulux stuff and other brands which does not stand up to the test after a year or two of use so its like what many ppl say you get wat you pay for heres the link http://www.rhinolinings.com.au/ If anyone wants a pic ill be happy to email to you if u send me ur address . Cheers Re: Garage Floor 12Mar 07, 2013 6:43 am 2 pac is the way to go. Our townhouse is only 10 months old and the paint on the garage floor (which is marketed as ‘garage floor paint’) has already started pealing and cracking. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: Garage Floor 13Mar 07, 2013 8:41 am Painting garage floors to me is like painting tile roofs, once done it has to be repeated over the years to keep it looking good Arfur Re: Garage Floor 14Mar 10, 2013 1:29 pm Victoria_g06 I am probably going to go for Berger Jet Dry - Heavy Duty , $80 for 4L..
