Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 03, 2011 11:39 pm I am after advice on whether to extend out the back of my house or to raise. We have a small high-set house (chamfer board up top, brick bottom) facing north east at the front of long block with a nice outlook at the back. We originally just wanted to add a large deck and main bedroom out the back (and possibly extend kitchen out the back too). However, underneath we have a single garage and large area with cemented floor, and as I am quite tall I keep hitting my head on the beams, so have considered raising and building in underneath as it seems like a lot of wasted room. Ideally we would like to do both, but looking at a budget of about $100K at the moment. Deck is greatest want but do we raise first? Appreciate any comments you might have.
