Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 01, 2011 2:37 pm does anyone know on average how long council takes to receipt a DA submission. I have a letter from my builder last thursday saying that is was submitted but still nothing has appeared on council website. I'm concerned the submission has been lost in the mail or worse hasn't been submitted Re: Council DA submissions 2Mar 02, 2011 3:16 pm builder said it was submitted through DX which is suupose to be safe and fast... not sure what the hold up is then Re: Council DA submissions 3Mar 02, 2011 4:03 pm Some councils are notoriously slow! Design approval might be different from building permits though. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Build Thread Re: Council DA submissions 4Mar 03, 2011 11:03 am I guess I just have to be patient (damn the control freak in me). I just hate that is been sitting on a desk for a week already without any action. Re: Council DA submissions 5Mar 03, 2011 11:43 am our builders called council. they confirmed they had received the DA but not issued a number yet so have to wait. Just wish I knew what the hold up was. we do have some time buffer but each week brings us closer to that preliminary contract date when the fixed prices can change and we want to avoid that at all costs. Re: Council DA submissions 6Mar 08, 2011 11:42 am another week past and still no action from council. It's very frustrating as in the two weeks past all the notifications and referrals could have been done by now. our builder only want to call them once a week as don't want to agitate them but really, who are council accountable to to do the right thing? Re: Council DA submissions 7Mar 09, 2011 2:08 pm my DA has finally been "officially" received and given a document number now. I still have no idea what the delay was but at least it's up there now and i can track it's progress. Fulltilt I guess they were just exercising their right to respond within 2 weeks (since it's 1 day shy of the 2 weeks). Fingers crossed it just takes the max of the 2 months estimated for their determination now! Re: Council DA submissions 8Mar 09, 2011 8:07 pm It took our council 3 weeks to even allocate it to an Officer. Things started to happen quickly after this. Good luck, its a frustrating process isnt it? Cant wait for ours to be over and done with!
