Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 17, 2011 2:13 pm Ok so we're about to embark on our outside renovations. We're planning on moving our existing front door to our existing front step, to allow for a entry...we'll be having double entry doors. Where the pavers are now, they will be going (thank goodness, i'm sick of tripping on them) and the area built up to be even with new front doors and then tiled. My reno guy has dropped off some samples of tiles for me to view, 2 of them being sandy coloured tiles. We're pretty sure we're going to have grey tiles in new front patio/porch, but he said maybe the lighter ones for the new entry. I'm not sure this will look ok, as I have floor boards throughout the rest of the house. So I guess i'm asking, should I continue the grey tiles into the new entry? or should I continue with floor boards into that area? he said that the sandy tiles should look ok against the floor boards, but I'm not sure I want 3 different types of flooring in such a small space/area. What do you all think? The house will be evenutally rendered, with new paint job around windows, roof redone and guttering etc... I've got some pictures so you know what I mean.....hope it all makes sense. Oh and these may not be the tiles I choose, just a small sample Re: My new entry renovations - ideas welcomed!! 2Feb 18, 2011 8:55 am Oops I had misunderstood what my tiler was talking about. He meant, using a darker (grey) tile as a boarder around a lighter tile, for the entire area. Think i'd prefer a lighter grey tile for the entire area.....hmmm decisions decisions I ran into trouble finding a lock that would fit my particular door, like your situation with your pivot door. I wanted a safe lock that couldn't be messed with easily. 4 25700 Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 4602 I am looking to design an entry door to a lower ground basement that has 2200mm between the external entry height to FFL of the ground floor.
