Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 15, 2011 4:38 pm I have discovered through my neighbour that natural gas is available in my street. If I change to this my builder will charge me an extra $300. I have never had gas in a house before so was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to the pros & cons of each? Re: Natural Gas vs Bottled Gas 2Feb 15, 2011 5:44 pm We have natural gas and love it, biggest benefit is you dont have to worry about ordering gas bottles. We are using the gas for the cooker, gas booster on hot water system and we also put in a point for the bbq. I would do the change. Re: Natural Gas vs Bottled Gas 4Feb 15, 2011 6:11 pm Thanks for the replies bashworth and take2. It seems like a good idea and $300 is nothing in the big spend of house building, I think I will make the change. The builder also wants to know if we now want to go ahead with the heat pump hot water system. I will post a new topic about this because again I know nothing about them and wonder if the $2500 extra cost will be worth it if we are not on gas bottles?
