So i've plugged up all the possible entry points and this seems to have stopped them getting into the roof. Now the problem is, they are sitting around the eaves and dropping bird crap all over my walls during the daytime & nighttime. They haven't gone away... i've looked into putting some of these http://www.birdspikesaustralia.com.au/s ... rd-spikes/ on the areas where they're sitting, or possibly shock tape with a solar unit so it isn't powered by the mains (but the system is still bloody expensive), but i'm sort of reluctant to put birdspikes on a residential home for aesthetic purposes. I looked at birdwire, but i'm not convinced it'll be effective. Does anybody have any other ideas for how to get rid of these damn birds?!?!?!?!?! Of all the things i have to do on my reno, this is the most stressfull!!! The sound of pigeons is driving me nuts!!! HELP!!! Re: Roosting birds & getting rid of them - Help!!! 3Feb 15, 2011 10:35 am fulltilt Get one of the huge water pistol/gun contraptions then ... it will help eventually. We did the same thing a few years ago - plug up all the holes and then they just sit there, but spray them with water (you have to sneak up on them if you can) and they eventually get sick of it and go somewhere else to roost. Hahahaha.... i'm plugging the hose in as we speak!!!! (there's about 4 or 5 of them there today...but sometimes theres upwards of 10) I thought of using massive amounts of fire... but water will probably cause less damage to the house lol. I just found some other products too, there's some gel you can get which deters them... looking into that... otherwise i might settle on the birdspikes, just have to decide whether to get the plastic ones or the steel ones.
