Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 03, 2011 11:37 pm Wanted to seek any advice on driveway approvals from the kerbside to our property. We are completing a new house on an existing piece of land and we have will be adding a 2nd driveway to the property and seeking council for approval for this. My question is whether the company I ultimately select to do my driveway usually carry out the work to create the entrance to the kerbside from the property as well as lodge the application to council for me? Is this a normal service that most pavers undertake? Thank you! Re: Driveway council approval 2Feb 04, 2011 10:09 am Hi Dazza, I'm not sure where you are but with our council we need to organise a permit through the council and also provide the company name/director (of the concreting company) and prove that they have Public Liability Insurance when applying for the Permit (in our case it's an extension we are seeking) our particular council does not allow 2 x crossovers to the one property - so I'm not sure whether that would be a different process. Hope this helps. Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: Driveway council approval 3Feb 04, 2011 10:30 am Our concreter organized the council approval/inspection. Having said that I did do my homework and phone the council for specifications, forms and rulings about position, width etc before engaging the concreter's services. I'd recommend phoning your council too. Re: Driveway council approval 5Feb 04, 2011 11:30 am Dazza88, our council has a form that you can fill and submit either yourself, or the concretor can do that. The thing is - because the form asks for the concretor's details - it means you must have chosen them already. Then it makes no difference in terms of who submits the app (except that I suspect it would cost you less if you submit it yourself). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
