I have heard that if one installs a 160lt tank with 1 panel we may run out of warm water, and we need to have dual pipe runing otherwise it can reduce the water pressure if hot water is opened at 2 places. Could someone please guide me with this. How to have equal pressure if taps opened simultaneously and do i need a 350lt tank with 2 solar panels. Cheers Re: Solar water heating and tank 2Jan 27, 2011 8:54 pm We have gas-boosted solar, and have never run out of hot water. We turned the boost switch on the day we moved in, and have left it on since. Our gas-boost part is a Rinnai Infinity box. We went for a larger tank - can't remember the size now, but I think it's 215L - with two panels, with the idea of getting the maximum "free" hot water possible for our family of five. Our gas bills are teeny-tiny in summer... 350L sounds like overkill. I'm not sure why water pressure would be an issue, regardless of tank size. Any plumbers care to enlighten us?
