Browse Forums General Discussion Re: portal shed used for a house 2Jan 26, 2011 2:12 pm It does depend on your council regulations, but the biggest areas of concern in conversion are: -Insulation - you have to make sure you can upgrade to the right level of insulation for your area - This should be relatively easy -Light and Ventilation - There are minimum levels of light and ventilation required so you may have to add in windows etc. -Waterproofing - When constructing a house pad a water poof membrane is put under slab to stop damp rising through the slab. Sheds do not usually have this done, so it would have to be addressed. This is usually the biggest headache with conversions as councils are very particular with this.
