Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 19, 2011 10:15 am I'm hoping that someone on here can help me with a question regarding the drainage breather/relief that appers at the front of most new blocks in new land developments. Can this be adjusted in the position that it protrudes from the ground? Currently the riser sits in a position where I would like to have my driveway. Can I install a couple of bends underground to allow it to be in a garden bed? And I'm in Melbourne if that makes a difference. Thanks. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Thanks. +1 I am also interested to know the answer to this question, I also have one at the rear of the house that I would be keen to lower / relocate. Cheers Heath Re: Drain Breather/Relief 3Jan 20, 2011 9:09 am If you are capable of extending the riser as you say, by adding bends and sections then it should be OK. You need to be wary of the depth of the riser and piping as I think there is a minimum depth that needs to be observed when any paving/concrete is going to be put on top of any buried piping/cables. From memory water pipes must be min 400mm under ground and electrical 600mm. Check with your local council or even the builder, they should know. Heath, the top of the riser must be above whatever it is venting, so when you say lower it, you need to be careful of how low you go. if your block slope downward form the house a the rear you may be out of luck. Much a do about nothing. You can see the fall heading to the actual drains. Stormwater ingress will be minimal and it's far better to have the top sitting flush rather… 12 6245 Yeah mine about 9 metres long and 8 wide with slope of 25% at one point but the end point of the outlet is past the side of garage and if he concretes allowing for… 4 4539 Agreed. I just found out today the certifier has not given the final sign off. 2 4091 |
