When I attach the structure to the house (ie the beam), I need to fasten it with some suitable method. Typically, I would have used either dynabolts or concrete screws intto the brick, but when I was talking to a structural engineer, he recommended the use of chemsets. My understanding with them, is that you predrill a hole at a given size, clean it to remove any dust residue, insert the chemical compound (ie similar to a silicone gun), then drive the fastener into the wall and allow it to cure. Now, the bricks have the 3 big holes running through the inside of them, so would a chemset work?
Anyone with any experience or knowledge would be good to here from. The reason the engineer said to use chemsets was that they do not stress the structure.
