Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 12, 2011 5:48 pm I would like to know what the best flooring system is in terms of insulation, sound-proofing and value for money. I am about to embark on a three storey build. I have investigated Hebel PowerFloor and Ezidek. Both systems seem to have a lot of merit but I can't seem to find any other similar systems with which to compare them. Surely we're not limited to just two choices here in Australia, are we??? If so, which of these two would people recommend? Any feedback/recommendations would be much appreciated. Cheers, Terry. Re: Floor Systems 2Jan 21, 2011 8:13 pm terryabraham, there are a whole raft of systems that could be used. If 3 storey means garage under, 2 storeys above, you should be able to use timber which opens other alternatives. One that I know specifically is using timber I-joists, filling it with 200mm hempcrete and you'll get a thermal rating of ~4.0. Used in a house in Tasmania to get 6 star rating for house on stumps For sound insulation, CSR, Rondo or Boral have a number ff suspended ceiling solutions. If floor depth is a concern, remember that services will increase depth whereas you can run services through the I-joist.
