Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 10, 2011 10:18 am We have a white early 1970's home with the typical L shape lounge and colonial windows. It was built with great foundations, hardwood frames and good quality floorboards, so it has good bones so to speak. The building is also an L shape due to an extension that was put on. Fortunately the extension was done very shortly after the initial build and fits the rest of the house well. Unfortunately the best views are from the inside of the L shape where the bathroom and laundry currently are. Our plan is to put a large room into the L shape and rip out the bathroom and laundry. We plan to put them where the kitchen currently is. Our problem is working out how the extension will fit with our current roof line and how we can update the homes exterior. We will be doing most of the work ourselves and are on a budget (two young kids in tow). We have built before and have owner builder construction knowledge but need professional help with the external elements. Can any one recommend anyone? We are in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria.
