Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Importing kitchen from China 2Jan 03, 2011 5:30 am Is there any reason you have gone for this option rather than get the kitchen built here in Australia? I ask this for one good reason-what are you going to do if something doesn't fit or what you order isn't what arrives? Re: Importing kitchen from China 3Jan 13, 2011 6:34 pm Hi, I was having some work done in my house in Perth last year and got to talking to the chippy about where they got their kitchens from etc. He said they got all their kitchens from China, it was fast and accurate. and of course much cheaper. Re: Importing kitchen from China 4Jan 15, 2011 6:15 pm If you do decide to go this way, be also very careful that you get good quailty hardware, particularly drawer runners. THese will take some weight & the stuff over there can be of inferior quality - easily bent. Re: Importing kitchen from China 7Jan 17, 2011 9:03 pm might be worth a look - www.diykitchen.com.au ? im also trying to find a kitchen supplier - ours is a unusal shape due to our thin terrace. Be interested to hear how you go - seems a bit risky to me not being able to get a look/feel for the materials this will get you started though: http://www.made-in-china.com/products-s ... inets.html Re: Importing kitchen from China 8Jan 17, 2011 9:14 pm Hi! Speaking to the guy who's doing our kitchen the other day and he mentioned that some of the ultra affordable chinese kitchen cabinetry contain heeeeeaps of formaldehyde. Which, as he explained it, was no big problem in itself, but as soon as the surface gets scratched, it releases the formaldehyde and that is a problem. Apparently you can tell the ones that have been treated with it because the board inside (you know the flaky stuff) is green. I'm sure there are people on here who know heaps more about it and i hope the information i have left is accurate. It could be worth checking with your supplier? Good luck! I'm sure it will be great! Re: Importing kitchen from China 9Jan 17, 2011 9:29 pm i recommend this place http://www.buildinggroup.com.au/ lots of stock, direct to public from their warehouse. A friend of mine recently ordered a kitchen from China, most recently, to be exact a few weeks ago, he installed this kitchen. I hadn’t visited him at home yet, but the photos he sent me look pretty pretty. I like his purchase. But I have not yet thought about such a purchase for myself, and I am not sure if I need it now one hundred percent. In any case, you should weigh the benefits of such a product from China. Re: Importing kitchen from China 12Nov 14, 2018 2:10 pm There is definitely a lot and most of them are really good as they have to compete between themselves. Nowadays, they use CNC machines to cut to less than 1 mm tolerance, Blum hardware and high quality low emission materials to produce, provide you free designs and 3D rendering, etc. They can even organize you a special glass splash-back with custom high resolution prints on it. You can also get access to some special stuff which is considered high end in Australia such as 18 or 20 mm plywood carcasses. They also provide you with free samples, etc. (you only pay the shipping fee). I am planning to order my kitchen, counter tops, wardrobes, built-in furniture, internal doors, tiles and engineered flooring from China. To give you an idea of a pricing, e.g. for 5.8 meter kitchen + 3x1 meter island with Calacatta Marble-styled quartz countertops, Blum soft closing hardware, 18 mm plywood carcasses, glossy shark nose (bottom) + push-to-open (top) 2pac they have quoted me US$5.6K (obviously plus freight, GST, etc.). As I will be ordering a big container from China, I am planning to stack up all the stuff together and then ship it in one go. They also can do anything with the kitchen, including developing additional for it, like flying kitchen or smth like that Re: Importing kitchen from China 15Jan 20, 2019 12:19 am alexp79 There is definitely a lot and most of them are really good as they have to compete between themselves. Hi Alexp79, can you please tell me which company in China you decided to go ahead with and if you recommend them please. I hope you now have the amazing kitchen you were hoping for Re: Importing kitchen from China 16Jan 20, 2019 12:25 am alexsandro13 Very versatile question. I done designs and asked for quotations from Foshan Ais Living and Hangzhou Aisen Furniture (look for them at Alibaba them). No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6624 2 4657 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7378 |
