There has been water damage to the chipboard prior to when we purchased the property and the tiles are cracking, SO we thought we would replace the old subfloor and tiles. My problem is, that the flooring runs between the joists and the wall and this area has had water damage as well. I have been doing research and most recommend just cutting the old floor 1/2 an inch from the wall and replacing that section. My concern is that the wall will be left sitting on unstable chipbord. The downstairs toilet was to be our first attempt. I was feeling confident until it came to the wall. Any ideas. Do you think that just removing the flooring up to the walls will work or do you think we need to replace between the joists and the walls as well. If it is the latter, any suggestions on how this could be done would be greatly appreciated. MadMaree Due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off! there was an event. The question is whether the builder had the insurance and whether the event was covered. The workmanship is a separate conversation. 10 23698 Jimbo73 I would use heaps of adhesive on each sheet and screw rather than nail. use as many as you like cheers Simeon 1 4043 XCEM Alpha flooring seems to relatively new and I could not found any reviews. Have you or someone you know have used it and would recommend over other subfloor options?… 2 7556 |
