A friend has many noggins like that in his frame which I had a look at after worked stopped for Christmas. if the noggings are too short they,ll bend the stud which could lead to problems with fixing the gyprock at a join[only if its very bent though].if its only 5mm or so i wouldnt worry about it. That sucks! Hope it all works out.
