Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 29, 2010 2:43 pm I'm in VIC and had extra electrical work done during and after handover by the one company, and have only just realized I was never given a certificate of electrical safety. It was over $5K of work consisting of hardwired alarm system, video intercom, data and phone cabling, Starserve and 3 powerpoints (1 for subwoofer, 1 for alarm and 1 for Starserve). The company has just got back to me advising that "A Certificate is only necessary if actual powerpoints and lighting circuits have been run in the house. As the cabling we have provided for you is non-power related, you do not need an Electrical Safety Certificate". Does this sound right? They have obviously forgotten that a couple of powerpoints were supplied, which I will point out.
