Hi All
I was wondering what the "protocol" is for dealing with the tradies on the building site. We have commenced building through a company and therefor don't have any direct contact with the tradies. But a friend told me about the "slab for a slab" thought. i.e giving the guys a slab of beer after laying your slab. Unfortunately for them they had come and gone before we had a chance to make any contact. I've also heard of other people dropping in on the tradies and bringing them coffee on cold days etc. (but I think this was for an individuals own architect designed build).
I'd love to hear people's thoughts on visiting the site when the tradies are at work too. My own father got kicked off site during his build - but then again he was there everyday, all day inspecting their work. I wouldn't even know what I was looking for, let alone whether the work was good or not. We seem to have a good building inspector allocated by the company and are employing our own independent inspector to carry out a series of inspections so should we just let the tradies get on with and observe from a distance????
Any tradies out there with an opinion on this?
Thx.
