We've had it for two years now but are confusing ourselves with what we want to build. We have self-inflicted financial constraints (ie. don't really want to be in debt/working forever and now be able to enjoy the land). We are tossing up between a single storey double brick country style home on a slab vs a two-storey TFH with upstairs living, verandahs and decks and floor to ceiling windows. Our site is a "H" class with highly reactive clay soil, so the slab site-works quote was a little I wish there was a magical house fairy genie that would tell us what to build I do know that we want a traditional looking house though. We don't want to just plonk down a "suburban" style house, even though it would probably be better value. Am watching Cleopatras thread with interest as we love what they have done to the THF plan. Re: Anyone with Acreage - Come Say Hi 75Nov 21, 2010 1:09 pm Hi Maya_Papaya, I love Chittering. Have you got the rolling hills. Any pics Have you thought of a kit home. You can get them to build it and you'd still save $$$ Re: Anyone with Acreage - Come Say Hi 76Nov 21, 2010 2:15 pm thirsty Hi Maya_Papaya, I love Chittering. Have you got the rolling hills. Ross Squire I think, had some houses we thought were okay. If you know of any others around the place we're open to ideas Pics are uploading (slowly) on to PB Re: Anyone with Acreage - Come Say Hi 77Nov 21, 2010 2:21 pm Maya_Papaya Hi there We have 5 acres in the lovely Chittering valley. Am watching Cleopatras thread with interest as we love what they have done to the THF plan. you may want to look around cause at times you will find that some builders may have deals on at the time. I know that at time of paying our deposit our builder had a deal on at the time that all site classes were the same price - so for us we were an "M" and the site works cost us under 5K(mind you we only have a 500mm fall) its a hard decision to make its it For us we knew we wanted a 'country' looking house and basically went with the design that had everything we needed and needed the less amount of changes. love to see some pics of everyones places. we are painting our fence kentucky black - anyone else used this colour? And then knowing you have to pay a minor fortune for siteworks on top. acrebuild1 we are painting our fence kentucky black - anyone else used this colour? If thats the colour Im thinking of, we're going to do our paddocks in that colour. It looks really nice. I'm a little jealous of people with lovely big paddocks and rolling hills. We have just under 2 acers in Clarence Valley which is northen NSW. This is our first build so the bigger blocks were a little daunting, our lovely little slice of paradise will do us just fine I fell in love with it straight away! We have a gentle slope down to the north with a gully at the bottem that fills up every now and then. This has just made beautiful views that no one can build out Our neighbours currently are cows, shetlans and kangaroos. I can't wait to finish and move in but we are a long way off yet Look forward to seeing everyone else's progress. 1 4581 Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24824 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17865 |
