Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 13, 2010 9:14 pm I have heard that there are companies around that will go through our house prior to handover to check everything and make a list of any defects or issues. Is this correct? If so, could someone provide some names. I am in Brisbane Painting finished, time to tile! HANDOVER - THURSDAY 3RD MARCH 2011 Re: handover question 2Nov 14, 2010 11:31 pm I was a property manager and would definitely recommend handovers.com (I used them for the Gold Coast and I presume you could get a rep up in Brisbane to) OR get a licensed builder to check over everything. It is imperative that you do this -- and make sure all items are fixed prior to accepting the property. It will make your life so much easier. It is also important that you put everything in writing at around 5 months before the 6 month mark to ensure that the building fixes any other defects that pop up. Also try and go and see the landscaping after it's raining to ensure that you have no 'pooling' water and the landscaping is done correctly. Take photographs so when your handover is on the day you can show the builder in case there are any problems he needs to rectify. Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71811 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 Your house should come in "as new" condition.
