Re: [NSW] Gregory Hills - Roll Call! 802May 24, 2013 8:25 pm Hi Guys, My Fiancé & I would like to get all your thoughts on an issue that came to light with our neighbour at the beginning of the year. We received a letter that they want to subdivide their block of land, keeping in mind we are on explorer street. The owner has put in an application to subdivide two corner blocks they have purchased. One of these corner blocks being our neighbour(lot 2109), the other being the corner of healy and discovery cct (lot 2142). I don't know how you guys would feel if this was happening to you, but we are pretty annoyed. Council has gave us a verbal confirmation that this will be approved and there is no room for mediation on this matter as they comply with all council regulation and requirements. We had a read through our purchase contract (not that there we are solicitors/conveyancers)and there was a clause stating that subdivision would not be able to take place on the block after 10 years of owning that block. We ask the question why is there a contract in place if there a loop holes to it and people can now subdivide?? I'm sure if we all knew this before our opinions may have changed on purchasing in the area. We purchased because we loved the community feel that Gregory hills had to offer and thought this would be a lovely community to raise future children up in etc. We understand that there is a high % of people that have purchased vacant land for investment purposes, but the main difference here is that they are single dwellings. Personally, we don't want 2 x two story dwellings towering our house, We feel like there is no sense of privacy and the morality of this investor isn't in line with most of the other families/couples in the community. Their main goal is to possibly get the subdivision approved and sell the blocks at a premium or subdivide and build and then sell off. The sales office has informed us that the owner has no intention to build any time soon and does not wish to arrange fencing yet. We are ready to move in a weeks time and want to secure our house, this leaves us with not only a crap situation where we probably have no further say against council and Dartwest doesn't want to do anything further. We ask for your support this Tuesday the 28th of May when the council meeting will be held. If you are attending contact Marnie Tripodi before 4pm on Tuesday to address council on 46547777. Spread the word! Mr & Ms Lot 2110 Re: [NSW] Gregory Hills - Roll Call! 803May 25, 2013 1:22 pm They may not want to put up a fence but get 3 quotes and serve them with a notice to fence, they are obligated by law to pay half. Also I have 3 doubles around me, not the greatest but not much you can do when building..... 2 Re: [NSW] Gregory Hills - Roll Call! 804May 27, 2013 11:37 am ripken I think we are a street away. My Galah is missing. She hasn't flown for over 4 yrs and today decided to have a go. Now I can't find her. Her name is Dahl and she can talk but I think she is hiding because she is scared. Could you please have a look in your backyards and on your upstairs balconies. She is scruffy, missing feathers under her wings and legs and a white patch on her chest. If you spot her can you call me on 46231446, she is scared of other animals especially birds. Hates anything long that might look like a snake, so don't try an use a stick to get her. Thanks PS anyone know how to change your email address on here my new one is mtiernan@iprimus.com.au Re: [NSW] Gregory Hills - Roll Call! 815May 30, 2013 8:12 pm Hopefully hasnt gotten close to my house..
