Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 17, 2010 1:16 pm Hi We are about to sign our building contract but after a phone call with my sales consultant he mentioned in passing that some of the things he said were included no longer are. The biggest being our door handles. The problem is that the initial selections sheet he gave us shows these items as being standard (we got this document when pAying the deposit) but last week he handed us a different version of the selections document and it is no longer included. Obviously we want these inclusions but I worry that they will claim the new version is what we get without paying to upgrade. Our selections meeting is this week. The new version ofthe document is for promo house as he claims it didn't exist previously and so we were given the deluxe range document (at the time he said we got all deluxe options as standard). Where do we stand on this as we don't want to have to pay for these "upgrades" as they could add up to a few thousand dollars and we were under the impression they were included. Also he mentioned as went through the house that a pot drawer under the oven was now standard but having got the plans it is not shown on them and when I asked him said they weren't included in our house even though he specifically mentioned them Jason Building a modified Platinum MKII with Blueprint Homes. I had a similar drama with my builder - was told that ALL estate guidelines were included, then later on they turned around and said that the raised ceilings (estate requirement) were not in fact included, and by the way that will cost us an extra $2500. I successfully fought the extra cost but it did take a couple of weeks and a lot of arguing, I explained that it was advertised (and still on the website), that we were told it included all of these, and we signed up on the basis of the inclusions. If he gave you anything in writing, go back and ask how come it is no longer included. Obviously there may not be any legal standpoint as everything prior to the contract signing is not legally binding but it's definitely worth a shot. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37229 - our Iris 4!
