Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 07, 2010 8:01 pm I moved into the new place about a month ago now. After coming home last week i noticed someone had used my front water tap. Then the next day the old man was over and he told the the render guys next door were using my tap. Then last Friday i was leaving to go to the airport and found the brickis using the my water. I asked then why they were using it and they told me the site had no tap out the front yet. They also saisd they'd been using mine to do the whole house! I contacted the builders 2 days ago who apologised and were going to get onto the site supervisor to find out what was going on. So 2 days later i still havent heard anything. Whats the best way to go about this, ring again and ask whats going on? Contact the water board? Isn't this classed as stealing? I cant see the differance between this and me using there brick's to build my house. Re: Builders Next Door Using My Water 2Oct 07, 2010 8:38 pm I just read this in the general thread the other day, it has been happening to some else. They came up with some good idea's. Have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39231 I hope this helps. Like others said though, if i had been asked and compensated for i wouldnt have cared if they'd used the water. Re: Builders Next Door Using My Water 4Oct 07, 2010 8:54 pm Ok I didn't realise they had nearly finished. Maybe contact their builder in regards to some sort of compensation. It is stealing! They did the same to me, and to my neighbour. The cost I don't mind (its like 20c for 1000 litres), its just them using without asking - the builder next door even used our front tap while we were home! *******. They should have their own taps organised. Re: Builders Next Door Using My Water 8Oct 07, 2010 11:12 pm how can they not have a tap if the build is nearly complete? i do think its rude. even if the cost is minimal they are paid to organise these things. i would contact the water board, council, and put a sign on your tap stating this is for private use only and coming onto your property is trespassing and charges will be laid if caught to see if that deters. but my experience in building so far is that anything goes When times get tough build a house...Our second build Re: Builders Next Door Using My Water 9Oct 10, 2010 8:51 am I caught the brickie next door using our power.
