Build to lock up.. 2Oct 08, 2010 9:43 pm where are you looking to build? I'm at about the same point as you and am looking at paal, kitome, ozkit (but they seem more expensive), country kit homes, haven't explored new england but my neighbour got one of there kits. Re: Kit home..Steel or Timber ?? Build to lock up.. 3Oct 09, 2010 12:46 pm We've looked at most of the kit homes we could. We LOVED Harkaway, but simply couldn't afford it. We've settled on Kitome. We are waiting on finance so we can give them the green light to start. At this stage we are going to stage 2 with the kit (Harrington MK III), purely so we don't need to get quotes on plaster, skirting etc. We already have most of our bathroom type stuff (DH is a plumber and has a few retail contacts for that type of stuff)) and have quotes on a kitchen. All the best. Just make sure you read the fine print and are well aware of what exactly you get and don't get for your money and what sort of support you'll get from them. Wooo! I have a thread! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=39239 Re: Kit home..Steel or Timber ?? Build to lock up.. 4Oct 13, 2010 7:08 am What made you pick kitome over paal? And what's your view slab or piers? Treated timber or steel as this is the big differences between the quotes we've got one mob telling us to go a slab and another saying piering will be cheaper. Re: Kit home..Steel or Timber ?? Build to lock up.. 5Oct 13, 2010 8:27 am Hi Jess, Just came fown to floor plan in the end, and also price. PAAL are also very good, so probably much of a muchness really. DH wants stumps. We have a quote through Kitome for a timber floor kit, minus the stumps though, we'll need to source them. We also got a quote from Stratco for their steel kit, but was around $8k more. DH like's the stumps and bearers to allow access under the floor. I think we are going to go with concrete stumps and timber joists and bearers. Steel would be my preference purely for the fact that it will never ever rot, regardless of the conditions. But like everything, $$$ is a factor. What are you planning on doing for a home? Wooo! I have a thread! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=39239 Hi I am wanting some opinions about the build of a steel shed I am going to get one about 4.5 x 2.5 m steel shed and the height will be about 2.3-2.4m high The one I am… 0 14610 This is 100% true.
