Hi, I recently built a house with a reputed builder, completed about 8 months ago & while landscaping noticed that the house location is incorrect. Instead of 6m set back in the front as per approved & certified plans, & work order drawings, the house has a set back of 6.6m. The issue is that this has made our already small back-yard even more smaller by 600mm; approx 15% of backyard lost due to this error. For eg I'm left with 3.8m in backyard to fence rather than 4.4m. This is causing a lot of trouble in landscaping because of a 3m easement in the backyard. Also i believe it had costed us a lot more in site costs (more piering & soil imports) becuase this is the deepest part of house (more than a metre of filling). I wanted to know if anyone else had a similar problem & what can be done about it. I'm thinking of taking legal advice soon.
Thanks
