Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 29, 2010 9:00 am Hi, I wonder if someone could give some advise. I need to put colorbond fences around my property. The quote I am getting for 2.1m high x 25m length colorbond = $2132 (which is $85.28/m). For 1.8m high x 30m length costs $1989 ($44/m). I want to confirm if such price is good value. There is extra charge for removing old fences ($300) and vines ($275). And there's a note in the quote: "price is estimate only and subject to final inspection." The guy has visited the place and did the measurement. Is it common for the price to change when the work begins? Many thanks. Re: Colorbond pricing in sydney 2Sep 29, 2010 2:39 pm If it's $44/m per side (each neighbour paying $44 per meter), then thats a bit pricey, though I'm from Melbourne. Also, the price shouldn't change from the quote. It may only do that if you have put obstructions on the fence line that they need to remove, in which case they should give you call before anything is done. Re: Colorbond pricing in sydney 3Sep 29, 2010 5:01 pm Hi Thanks for your input. I'm sure the price will be split with the neighbour. When you said "obstruction", is it like vine growing throughout the fence? Is the cost of removing the old fence exclusive to the cost of the colorbond in general? Thank you. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10181 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2862 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 17655 |
