We purchased a property to knock down and rebuild. The power pole is out the front of this property, so power and phone lines from this pole go to our neighbours.
Our demolition company has advised us that the power and phone lines to at least one of the neighbours will have to be moved in order for them to use heavy equipment to demolish the existing house. They claim our builder will have the same problem (to be confirmed). They do appear to be quite low.
This does not appear to be a common problem to the power and phone companies who appear to be giving us the worse case scenarios right now in terms of putting their power and phone lines into a pit near their property (under at least one driveway), digging a trench and reconnecting their power and phone lines, all at our expense.
Has anyone come across this before?
