I was very calm but he got all worked up and now I am seething. He said, "oh you've got the mattress all on one side of course it's going to have a huge gap!" so I said "i told you that's all the photos I have and I said in the email if you want ones in the centre let me know" so he said "yes please take some in the centre and dress the bed" I said "dress the bed? I can put sheets on but I'm not putting a doona on that will cover the whole gap!" oooh I'm so annoyed. I said I was not very happy and asked what has happened between me getting my son's bed 2 years ago and now, that has added 2cm to the size of the bed??? he said "I have no idea, we have a different manufacturer now!" wtf??? I'm going put sheets on it and take some pics tonight of the mattress centred in the bed. they better fix it. I bet they'll try to say "oh yes N meant that it is acceptable to have a gap of 3-4cm ON EACH SIDE." so angry. need to have coffee to calm down. Re: gap between mattress and bed too big? 24Sep 16, 2010 2:50 pm How frustrating!!! If anything at least get them to replace the slats, my bed ended up collapsing constantly, because the slats were just that tiny bit too short, then when movement was on the bed they would end up slanting and then eventually falling through the frame. NOT GOOD, it began to happen on a daily basis before we finally ripped the mattress off, and put a whole bunch of industrial strength velcro on to keep the slats there. (on a brighter note, it seems to have worked, just a massive effort when the slats are meant to stay on the bed!) viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37229 - our Iris 4! 2 7432 The gap can be adjusted so it's tighter. You can definitely set up corner cabinets to have the same gap as standard doors. 2 13454 Got my stairs designed like this with 250mm Gap marked below.
