It's about 300mm in diameter Closer to a metre in diameter for the total manhole. The covers are around 600, large enough for someone to go down (expanding underground). Cover can be concrete or metal depending upon requirements. Baronox With the Sewer pit, are they open at the top (as it is showing in the picture above) ? Cause then it might be an issue with smell coming from it.. ? They are generally air tight. Its also an enclosed sewage pipe inside at the bottom. Smells wont be a problem.
