Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 03, 2010 8:54 pm As we've posted in our forum, we've taken possession of the house today - YAY ! There's two things we want to get sorted pretty quickly (ie next week), and having trouble finding anyone decent & of good value. Here's what we're looking for: (A) Side Gate - We are planning on getting one on the blind side - 1.35m wide x 1.8m high. The preferred look is merbau or something similar (akin to the colors of our house). We went to Bunnings today to look at the Fortress range (and another), but we're not handymen and with the added fact of having to install a post bolted to the house to hinge it to and finding the right lock system, etc - it's in the 'too hard' basket. Has anyone found a good fence/gate builder in the south east of Melbourne that's relatively cheap ? (B) Television Antenna - I've made a couple of calls to some really unprofessional outfits (one guy put me on hold 4 times during my call and was pretty disinterested (that's not how you run a business, mate !), and Jim's is getting close to $300. We have two TV points terminated in the roof cavity, and as far as I can tell we'll need a splitter as well which will bump the price up. Again, has anyone found a good TV antenna installer on our side and won't break the bank ? Your help would be appreciated ! Re: Side Gate & Television Antennas in Melb - who's best ? 2Sep 05, 2010 12:21 pm Anyone ? If we don't find someone to do the gate soon, we'll probably get Hallam Fencing to do us a gate while they install our back & sides this week. Re: Side Gate & Television Antennas in Melb - who's best ? 3Sep 22, 2010 4:14 pm We are in Skye. Had a guy Matthew from Peninsula Gates do our side gate. We found him good. He came by a few weeks after the gate was installed just to make sure that nothing had gone wrong etc. Just having a look now, and can't his phone number. Perhaps google? Just not sure if he will travel to Lyndhurst. Guess it can't hurt to try? Re: Side Gate & Television Antennas in Melb - who's best ? 4Sep 22, 2010 5:55 pm Izz, thanks anyway but my very generous uncle made us one as a housewarming present ! It looks and is sturdy makes you feel more secure though, doesn't it ? Re: Side Gate & Television Antennas in Melb - who's best ? 5Sep 23, 2010 6:06 am We went without the side gate for about a week or two. My partner was so paranoid the whole time. Checking, and double checking windows and back doors were locked. Looking in the backyard at random times just to make sure no one was out there walking about. Much better now Re: Side Gate & Television Antennas in Melb - who's best ? 6Aug 27, 2011 3:51 pm Hi Paul.Jason If you need an Antenna installed out west i would recommend www.melbournetvantennas.com.au.
