Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 22, 2010 8:12 pm I have a 1910 bungalow, which is pretty much in original nick. There a number of power points in the home where the wiring is obviously coming down from the ceiling in a tube of sorts, which has been plastered to the wall. You can see the tube, as in the picture here, so it hasn't been chased into the wall and plastered over to hide it. Now what I'm wondering, since we're talking solid stone walls here and for much of the house, cement floors, which we intend to put floating floorboards over, what is the best way to add more power points? Do I bring the wires down from the ceiling, in the corners of the room and run them along the skirting boards? I saw that in one 1890s farmhouse about 6 months ago. Do I chase the walls and embed the wires into the walls, plastering over them, so you can't see the tubes with the wires in them? That's dirty, expensive work I'm assuming? Is there another way? I'm trying to find a solution that is not too expensive, but not a quick and dirty job either. Any ideas?
