I'm after recommendations for the best clear, semi-gloss or gloss finish paint for internal timber, but exposed to a fair bit of sunlight.
Which brand and which paint would be the best ? Two parts ? Urethane ? Water based ??

If not, solvent based is fine (but I wouldn't use it anyway, considering the options). If yes, use water based - if you are DIY-ing this job, it will be waaay easier on you, plus you should get a truly clear film over the timber with no hints of changed colour. I still think timber will darken a bit even under water based when exposed to direct sunlight. Oils and waxes - again, these would allow the timber to darken more, plus again, I wouldn't use them considering the water based (easy) alternative. I am not sure if there are any additives that could be mixed into whatever finish you choose to prevent yellowing and darkening. Sounds like this is intended for internal trims, not your floors? If for trims only, they shouldn't get the rough life like floors - so the hardness of the finish wouldn't worry me too much. Solvent based ones would give you the hardest surface finish, but they would yellow and darken. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
