On our side boundary the block has not sold so my question is. Are we up for the full price of the fence on that side or can we do a deal with the developers? We have three small children and will have to fence before the land next to us is sold. It isn't even registered yet Have you checked your contract of sale to see if you have anything similar? Melly03 is right about you needing to check your contract, as some developers do specify that you can't recover costs from them if they own the neighbouring land. If there's nothing in there about fences, then you should check the Fencing Act for your state - the laws vary a bit between states, and you don't say where you're located.
