Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 10, 2010 4:08 pm I am thinking of getting a keyless entry system installed to the front door of our new house. However, now that I’ve thought about it a bit more, I’m thinking of putting it on the door from the garage to the house, as this will be the door I will use most of the time... What do you all think? Also, is it possible to just use one “system” and connect the two doors (entry door and the one via the garage) or would I need to get two systems if I wanted keyless entry on both doors? Re: Keyless entry: garage or front door? 2Aug 11, 2010 7:39 am I am looking at something similar, I will be having one "system" with the intelligence to determine which key fobs are live, and two electronic door latches to do the actual unlocking of the doors (one for front door and one for garage entry door). The "system" will also be the alarm and using the key fobs will disable the alarm as well. Re: Keyless entry: garage or front door? 3Aug 11, 2010 7:54 am I've been looking for the same idea of having the front door and garage door working from one key/remote with a keypad. This product looks like a great idea. http://www.nokeys.co.nz/ I especially like the idea of having a remote when my hands are full unloading groceries from the car and also for the kids coming home from school being able to use the keypad to gain access. Re: Keyless entry: garage or front door? 4Aug 11, 2010 11:21 am I have keyless entry for my front door and I love it. Had it for about 2 years now and have never had a problem, mine users a tiny rfid card so I just have to hold up my keys to the door and it opens, it also has a keypad incase I forgot my keys or I dont need car keys I can just leave all my keys at home.
