Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 04, 2007 9:03 pm Over the last year we have developed a leak on our verandah, it only happens after extended, not necessarily heavy rain and occurs between the facia on the gutter as drips. Usually only over half a metre or so, but over 4 -5 metres this weekend.
The verandah roof is an add on, so it's colour bond roof into matching gutter, then a poly carb roof for the verandah. The poly carb has been up for 8 years and is flashed back into the gutter. Our main roof is colour bond, pitched at 12.5 degrees, the section where it meets the gutter is about 15 years old although the guttering is 25 years old, it seems to be in original condition with no holes and the down pipe doesn't appear to be backing up. Anyone with a suggestion? Regards, Mick Re: Leak between fascia and gutter 2Nov 04, 2007 9:11 pm Hi,
If guttering is 25 years old, I'd suggest having a roofing plumber inspect it all and advise what needs to be done. If he advises repairs or replacement, get him to show you the defective bits. Cheers! Ash. Re: Leak between fascia and gutter 3Nov 05, 2007 7:08 pm Mick47….like our bodies……housing selections wear out as well!
I agree with Ash, get in someone, probably a plumber to inspect your roof. He will be able to tell you what’s going on. Good luck! This can happen often, and if it’s not sorted, you could end up with a mess internally as well. That’s why a plumber is best…..sorry Steve!
