I don’t know if it is going to stain permanently but it starting to look pretty ugly. Here is a photo (sorry for the ad quality) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I will bring this up with my CSR and I will also ring Boral on Monday to get their opinion but I just wanted to get some opinions from people and also hopefully those that have used the same brick might be able to offer some advice. The stain was probably caused by the brick cleaner using to much acid when cleaning the bricks. After our site supervisor showed the brick cleaner of the stain, the ss told us that the brick cleaner will do another wash to get rid of the stain. I sort of remember the ss said that this is a common problem and should be easily fixed. At the moment we are still waiting for the brick cleaner to do it, hopefully when they eventually do it that there won't be any further problems after doing what they do. Show your site supervisor of the stain and ask for it to be fixed. Did you go for the raked option? We're about half way through our build and chose a different stlye of mortar and the cream. They've partly washed some of our bricks. We're not with PD. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sTdoZfNgDvw/TE1Z5UtKoxI/AAAAAAAAFfY/GfngrNrmnpw/s1600/IMG_3504.JPG Please help with our bricks, Boral Blackheath - UPDATE 29Aug 12, 2010 11:50 am I got a phone call from our rep today about our brick issue, expecting to hear that they are going to redo the alfresco side of the house, oh no, not even close... Our rep had a meeting with his boss, they decided to get an independent inspector in to check the quality of the brickwork, and it failed, ALL OF IT! Reason: There are so many problems with it and so many things that aren’t to spec. Solution: Every single brick is going to get pulled down and done again from scratch. They have contacted the company that did the brick work originally and are going to give them the opportunity to fix their mistake (or they don’t get paid), if they don’t want to do the job, then PD are going to get another brick layer (who did a job in Williams Landing with the same brick) to do the job instead. We have been given the address of this house in WL so we can go check out the quality of the work for ourselves and will go and have a look on Saturday. I am hoping we get the new brick layer, I really don’t want the mob that did it originally to go anywhere near our house, I am just praying that they get it right the second time round and that it doesn’t hold us up. Thanks to everyone for your help and advice, I will keep you posted on the progress. I hope that doesn't hold you up too much and I would definitely want different brickies the second time. I must say we love our Blackheath bricks and I'm sure you will too once this issue is resolved. Re: Please help with our bricks, Boral Blackheath - UPDATE 31Aug 12, 2010 12:43 pm Wow wizard, thats an unexpected result so does it mean they'll be cleaning off and reusing your current bricks or replacing them entirely as well? otherwise its a pretty darn big job to clean the mortar off all the bricks before they can be re-layed. Still hope it doesn't hold you up too much, hopefully they can get it right this time.
