Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Floating floor in a sunken loungeroom 6Jul 16, 2010 6:54 pm Bricey ... and a solution to the 2 step issue. Anyone tackled a steps using a floating floor system? If so.... how did you manage the verticle aspect of the step? How would you feel about doing the horizontal part of the steps (treads) in the same floating floor, but then (for simplicity of installation) use MDF cut to size for the vertical part (risers) and then paint the risers in white? That look no good for you? The sides of your stairs can also be made of MDF cut to shape. I also think the flooring places can find a matching "nosing" for the treads (the nice curved front part of treads), or they might even have it in the same species. I know I noticed those "accessories" in some brochures, maybe from UTF or ReadyFloor products. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... No access to subfloor unfortunatly. I drilled a small hole and missed a stump , I plan is to cut a man hole and do a proper inspection 2 2577 Thanks, that's the motivation I needed to give it a try sooner rather than one day! 4 2993 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6113 |
