Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 09, 2010 3:26 pm Hello, As the title says - what is the minimum space required for a "behind the bedhead" open WIR wall thingey? (Sorry not sure what they are called!). I realise that ideally it would be quite big but what would be the minimum workable space/width? Thanks! Re: Minimum space required for "behind the bedhead" open WIR 2Jul 09, 2010 3:49 pm You need to decide if you want sheves/hanging space on both sides or only one. If only one, you'd have to allow for: Shelves/hanging 500-600mm Space between the fitted out side and the wall, I'd say minimum 800mm (900-1000 would be better) The depth of the bedhead wall - usually about 90-100mm I think. 1.5m would probably do it as a minimum, although you might scrape it in with a bit less. But that depends on how much storage space you need, what configuration you wan and, whether you'll be storing other large items in there - suitcases, boxes, whatever. Obviously if you want a two-sided robe, you'd have to add another 500-600mm. Do a search for walk in robe or similar here....there was some discussion about this recently, although not specifically a behind-the-bedhead type.
