Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 05, 2010 4:35 pm Hi All, I just need your thoughts regarding our DA Application. First of all, we are building a 2 storey house at Stage 5 Beaumont Rise, Beaumont Hills through as very well know & establised builder. Our application was lodged in April 2010 just as soon as Stage 5 got registered. All other applications from other builders (Wisdom, Huxley, Clarendon, Platinum, Right Build) were also lodged around the same time. It is now July and our application is still not approved but all the other applications from other builders have been approved already. Some have already started laying the foundations. Contacted our builder to follow up current status of our application and what's the delay. We were advised that due to some member of the Active Group lobbying the council who are against 2 storey houses. The funny thing is, most of the approved plans are 2 storey houses. Not to mention the lot next to us who is also building a 2 storey house through Huxley - approved and started laying the foundation. I noticed as well there is only 1 approved plan on the same street through our builder (out of 4 applications). I am starting to think that our builder is slacking off following up applications due to high volume of their contract to build at the same time. We were also advised that the BH Council is due to meet with this Active Group on the 13/07/2010 and they should issue our building certificate by the 20/07. Which is great. I just find it hard to believe the issue with active group. If they are against 2 storey houses then the council should not have approved all the other 2 storey houses in the same street as ours. Does anyone else find this a little strange? Re: DA Application Delays - Baulkham Hill Council 2Jul 05, 2010 7:18 pm Have you contacted the Council? Ask to speak to the person/s who are in charge of evaluationg/approving dev apps for your area of the council - these guys should give you a far better insight than your builder.
