Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 29, 2010 1:39 pm Just wondering if there is a standard height (minimum allowed) for an internal wall light? This is in regards to a light in our staircase. I have tried googling but results keep coming back in relation to "lighting" standards only. TIA Cheers, B Re: Standard height for a wall light 2Jun 29, 2010 4:24 pm someone might prove me wrong here but i dno't believe there is a standard as such. 1750mm is usually the minimum we work to. Have you considered recessing them as a direction downlight? Even at 2000mm, if you are carrying something upstairs (a bed for example) you are likely to hit a wall light. a directional downlight recessed into the wall might solve the problem. I think a recessed light seems the way to go. House isn't finished yet. Just there is a light at 4th stair, at about eye height and it seems like it will be in the way............will talk to the SS about it. Was just curious if there was height standards for lights. ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7754 What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 2576 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
